Some hot events at the Firehouse will help get you through and past the Winter Solstice.
Tuesday, December 2, they will have a complimentary showing of the classic movie White Christmas. Arrive early as seating will be first come first served.
December 12-14 and 19-21 will host Theater in the Open’s production of “Cinderella in December”.
Celebrate the holidays with everyone’s favorite soot-stained step-sister, as Cinderella shows her selfish, scroogey step-siblings the true meaning of Christmas, falls in love with a charming prince, and melts a lot of frozen hearts along the way!
Cinderella is perhaps the most popular perennial panto across the pond, and we’re proud to present this classic to you with our own TitO twist! So get ready to cheer the goodies, boo the baddies, sing some carols and sling some snowballs! What does Panto mean? Pantomime (informally, panto) — not to be confused with a mime artist, a theatrical performer of mime. Panto is a musical-comedy theatrical production traditionally performed in the United Kingdom, mostly during Christmas and New Year season.
See the Sweetback Sisters sing on Monday, December 22.
Christmas caroling has never been this much fun! The Sweetback Sisters, as heard on NPR and A Prairie Home Companion, add their honeysweet voices, backed by their rollicking roadhouse band, to a wide-ranging program of holiday music for their annual Country Christmas Sing-Along Spectacular.
With a set list that includes timeless Christmas carols and contemporary classics, like “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree,” the Sisters raucously rev up some seasonal favorites and reverently harmonize on others. Lyric sheets for the audience let everyone join in the fun. The Boston Globe calls their show -“festive… the perfect balance of sass, sincerity and swing.”
After the holidays be sure to save the date for Warren Miller’s latest skiing film “No Turning Back” on Saturday January 10. No Turning Back, the latest ski and snowboard film from Warren Miller Entertainment, is 65 years in the making.
From beneath blankets of powder in Niseko, Japan to the top of Greece’s Mount Olympus, see fresh tracks on faces that have never seen skiing and snowboarding quite like this before. Even after all this time, they find new corners of the French Alps to climb, Mom and Pop hills in Montana to ride, and ancient evidence of skiing in the fjords of Norway. Skiers and non-skiers will enjoy the blend of athleticism, scenery and music that make Miller movies a classic winter pickmeup.
