Enjoy a “Winter Refuge” at Newburyport’s Firehouse Gallery through December. Gallery hours are from Wednesday through Sunday, 12pm to 5pm; and Sea Level restaurant is right next door for some holiday cheer.
Thirteen talented NAA watercolorists’; Muriel Angelil, Elizabeth Bell, Katie Cornog, George Darcy, Karen Fitzgerald, Ann Jones, Betsy Lewis, Claudia Mathews, Mary Ann McCarthy McArdle, Perry McIntosh, Peggy Poppe, Mary Remillong, and Christine Sanford will exhibit work alongside the very talented Amy Conly, photographer.
Amy Conly is an award winning photographer that has been documenting the north shore for many years and specializes in coastal locations. Having grown up with a love for the ocean, Amy captures elements of boat architecture, beach walks and seaside towns.
The Institution for Savings Gallery, located on the first floor of the Firehouse, hosts 12 art exhibits each year. Artists are invited to submit examples of their work for review and selection by our Visual Arts Committee once a year. All art is for sale and proceeds benefit the artist and Firehouse Center for the Arts. A reception is scheduled for each show, and offers a great opportunity to meet the artists.
Right next door, SeaLevel Oyster bar is a great choice for delicious sea food and amazing views. You can sit by the water and watch the boats (or ice chunks) go by while enjoying a hot meal and cold drinks. You can also book a private event here for your next social gathering or corporate dinner.
