November will be a great month for Jabberwocky’s Fall Author Series. Visit the popular Tannery complex and experience one of the largest independent bookstores on the Northshore along with other wonderful shops like RedBird home design in the complex. A wide selection of fiction, nonfiction and poetry will please readers of all ages and literary tastes.
Originally named after Lewis Caroll’s poem in Through the Looking Glass, the local bookshop is a true Newburyport treasure.
For over forty years owner Sue Little has created a reader’s haven stocking books that matter and employing a well read staff that loves to share their recommendations both online and in person.
A partnership with Kobo allows readers to download books and still support the local bookstore. Traditionalists will still prefer paper books to gift or share.
Always mindful of the community they serve, senior citizens enjoy a discount on Mondays and teachers receive a discount on classroom materials. Recently they have begun to offer a used book section in their Green Room.
This fall their Author Series will bring in established writers to read from their novels and hold discussions for the public. Make plans to attend a book signing and put something new on your bedside table as the weather grows colder. Signed books still make a great personal gift for the holidays.
