John P. Wells, founder of Wellsco Realty in Newburyport, MA and resident of Gove Drive in Newburyport, has decided to support Windrush Farm in 2016.
Windrush Farm in Boxford, MA has a long history of using hippo-therapy or equestrian therapies to aid in various rehabilitation effort.
John P. Wells and the Wellsco Real Estate team decided to be one of four sponsors in 2016 for the Windrush Farm’s first Trot Trot Trail Race last June. This new North Shore Trail Series 5K Race took place on the beautiful trails surrounding Windrush Farm.
Located in North Andover, but servicing the greater Merrimack Valley and North Shore, this non-profit organization provides equine assisted activities and therapies to children and adults with special needs, veterans, youth at risk, survivors of human trafficking and more.
The 5K race had an old time New England feel to it, with lots of twists and turns, crossing through the farm’s property. The trail included amazing vistas and access to some of the property’s hidden gems: such as the cabin in the woods, vernal pools, majestic birds and open pastures. The race ended in the middle of Windrush Farm’s 2nd Annual Bring A Friend Night extravaganza where runners were able to partake in the open beer and wine bar and food truck dinner.
John P. Wells and Wellsco Realty in Newburyport also plan to support the Windrush Annual Gala in October 2016, which will take place at the Peabody Marriott.
Said John P. Wells, “We choose various local non-profits to support in our stronger years. In the past we have donated to the Merrimack Valley Habitat for Humanity and the company feels it is right to give back when possible to help various groups in need. As we learn more about each organization we hope to be more involved with each passing successful year. There is nothing better than the feeling of being able to help out various organizations making a real difference in Massachusetts.”
