Artist Statement:
“As a photographer I feel fortunate to be able to combine my love of animals and the outdoors in the form of photography. In my work I try to capture a special moment in time or bring unnoticed beauty to the eyes of others. As I’ve grown as a photographer, I’ve expanded my subject matter and more creative ways to present many different subjects. While my first love is the natural world, I also enjoy the challenge of creating images that show the rhythm and unexpected beauty of other subjects. I consider my images successful if they make you laugh, gasp, smile or stop awhile to take a look.
Most of my non-traditional images are enhanced by manipulating, light, color and sharpness. Some images are selectively blurred while others are composites with backgrounds or textures added.” (Maryellen Stone)
