Friends of PI Light are offering tours of the small but sturdy lighthouse at the north end of Plum Island this summer. They will be held monthly will guides.
Learn all about the history of Plum Island lighthouses which have guarded the Merrimack River entrance to the sea since 1788.
Tours and parking are free although donations are appreciated, and will be used to help preserve and maintain the property. A climb to the top will offer outstanding views on a clear day.
Participants must be fairly mobile and children must be at least five years old and 42 inches tall. There is a short ladder at the top that must be used to enter the viewing platform.
1-4pm on the 3rd Sunday of each month!
3rd Sundays—– June 17; July 15; August 19 and September 16.
