For the last decade, Boston Magazine has hosted and collaborated on building a “Design Home” in the towns and suburbs around Boston. In 2014 Greater Boston will see its -tenth- innovative and futuristic home.
This year’s house was built in partnership with Ridgeview Construction, Tom and Natalie Treat, and Boston Children’s Hospital. The forward thinking home is in Salisbury, Massachusetts this year, and features smart home furnishings, eco-friendly appliances, renewable energy elements and attractive detailing.
The final result is this beautifully designed net-zero energy home. The solar panels on the roof are just one of the home’s many sustainable features.
Local participants include Newburyport Lighting, Jewett Farms Cabinetry, Red Bird furnishings and Wallsingham Art Gallery. 100% of ticket sales will support Children’s Hospital in Boston.
