Ed Markey will be a strong and measured voice in the Senate taking a unwavering stand on environmental protection (Cleantech jobs), equal pay for women, equality in marriage and much stronger gun control.
He has shown a history of wanting to work with Republicans to find the best answers for the complex issues of immigration reform, tax reform, and balancing anti-terrorism with civil liberties.
We need intelligent voices of all ages, races and genders to start filling our government offices and truly begin speaking for the majority of voters who are extremely tired of gridlock and stonewalling.
Democrats and Republicans need to start putting party loyalties second to the needs of the citizen body. Voting for those interested in the spirit of compromise and honest debate will start to turn around our deepening voter apathy. This is evidenced by very low voting numbers and the comments of younger voters.
